Researchers at Argonne National Laboratory studied how insect communities responded to newly established habitats in solar energy facilities. The two facilities were built on rehabilitated agricultural land and were restored with native plants. At the end of five years, the researchers observed pollinators thriving, with all habitat and biodiversity metrics having increased. This research shows habitat-friendly solar sites can play an important role in conserving biodiversity.
