AACC's 11th Annual Forum presents "Reforming Lab Reimbursement: Issues, Impact and Innovations." This one-day interactive policy forum will be held November 15, 2001, at the Radisson Hotel in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

The Medicare program is in the throes of change. Important policy changes that are on the table or already underway will have a significant effect on laboratory reimbursement. Program reform, uniform coverage policies and coding system changes are all on the horizon.

At the Forum, top officials and leading experts will explain:

* What major structural changes Congress and the Administration are considering for the Medicare program;

* What these changes will mean for clinical laboratories;

* What reimbursement problems "breakthrough" technologies face;

* Strategies for working with carriers to get reimbursement;

* Who is performing EBM studies and the quality of those studies;

* How the data from the studies is being used to make payment decisions;

* Recent court decisions and OIG actions that will affect how laboratories get reimbursed;

* The trends in Medicare reimbursement and what they mean for clinical laboratories;

* and much more.

Attendees of this conference will gain an in-depth understanding of the Medicare payment system for clinical laboratories. The program will give you a unique opportunity to interact with the policymakers who are responsible for making payment decisions.

The registration fee is $354 for AACC members and $504 for non-members. For further details regarding the registration or the program, please contact customer service at 800-892-1400 or 202-857-0717, or visit AACC's website at http://aacc.org/meetings/innovate/default.htm.
