American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology2001 Annual Meeting, Nov. 16-20Orlando World Center Marriott in Florida

Physicians, researchers and international experts will present "Scientific News You Can Use," on the latest developments in the treatment of asthma, other allergic and immunologic diseases -- conditions that afflict more than 50 million Americans, Nov. 16-20 in Orlando.

The International Conference on Occupational Asthma and Allergy precedes the meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15. The program includes recent developments, assessment protocol, and a variety of workplace allergens and irritants, including isocyanates, latex, detergents, spider mites and various chemical sensitizers.

The Annual Meeting program consists of more than 100 scientific sessions, 45 workshops, 350 technical exhibits and 250 abstract presentations.

Learn about:

-- New approaches in the diagnosis and management of asthma, allergic eye disease, atopic dermatitis and rhinitis.

-- Factors like lifestyle, environmental exposures and genes that may predispose us to allergic disease.

-- Technological advances in therapies including antihistamines, corticosteroids, antileukotrienes, allergen immunotherapy and combination therapies.

-- Special therapeutic considerations during pregnancy, and for infants and young children.

The expected 4,000 meeting participants include some 1,800 physicians, 200 allied health professionals, 100 office managers and 1,200 pharmaceutical representatives.
