Newswise — This summer UAB will offer a six-week Summer Treatment Program for children ages 6 to 12 with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or associated behavioral disorders such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder. "The program, one of only six such programs in the country, is a comprehensive approach to treatment provided in a therapeutic summer day camp setting," said Bart Hodgens, Ph.D., UAB clinical child psychologist and program director. "Activities focus on problem solving, developing friendships, addressing learning disabilities, enhancing sports skills, and assessing children's medications and behavior therapy." The camp will be held June 20 — July 29. Enrollment, now under way, is limited to 24 children. The cost is $2,800.
