Newswise — With global focus intensifying on alternative and renewable energy solutions to satisfy both environmental and policy issues, presenters are being sought for the Materials and Society technical programming at The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society's (TMS) 2010 Annual Meeting & Exhibition. The deadline to submit an abstract is July 15.
One quarter of 58 symposia planned for TMS 2010, convening February 14-18, 2010 in Seattle, Washington, focus on materials and energy technologies. They are: Solar Cell Silicon: Production and Recycling; Advanced Materials and Fuels Enabling Fusion-Fission Hybrid Reactor Systems; Modeling of Multi-Scale Phenomena for Batteries; Mechanical Performance for Current and Next-Generation Nuclear Reactors; Energy Conservation in Metals; Materials in Clean Power Systems V: Clean Coal-, Hydrogen Based-Technologies, Fuel Cells, and Materials for Energy Storage; Carbon Management for Minerals, Metals, Materials and Manufacturing Industries; Sustainability in Materials Production and Processing; and Recycling General Sessions.
The programming planned for this broad-based conference will also showcase other materials-related symposia featuring authors from across the globe, as well as offer a variety of networking events for students, lectures, receptions, and an exhibition.
As the Materials and Society programming theme grows in importance to TMS members and to the Society as a whole, TMS continues to develop programming reflective of global energy priorities and governmental technological initiatives.
