Professor Michael Chajes, an expert on forensic engineering who can unearth the root causes of bridge collapses and other engineering failures, can discuss the bridge collapse in Genoa, Italy, that killed at least 22 people.
As a consultant, Chajes has participated in the evaluation and testing of numerous major bridges and structures including the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, Ben Franklin Bridge, Chesapeake City Bridge, Lock Gates on the Erie Canal and several historic trusses.
He was heavily quoted on the bridge collapse in Miami in March.
