Newswise — Cornell University will host the first joint international conference of the Jungian Society for Scholarly Studies and the International Association for Jungian Studies, Aug. 10-14 at the Robert Purcell Community Center on the Cornell campus.

The conference title, “On the Edge: Psyche in Ethics, the Arts and Nature,” will feature 80 presentations on a variety of research on Carl Jung’s work and analytical psychology. Conference panels will reflect Jung’s interest in environmental and social issues outside of clinical and counseling situations.

Topics include the ethical aspects of Jungian clinical work, dream analysis, individuation, the nature and functions of depth psychology, and cultural analysis of literature, film, art and culture from a depth-psychology perspective. The schedule also includes dramatic presentations, plenary speakers and discussion forums.
