Newswise — MAYWOOD, Ill. March 22, 2013 — Lori Price, FACHE, MSA, RN, a veteran health care executive with more than 25 years of experience as a nurse and administrator, has been named president of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Melrose Park, part of Loyola University Health System. She will step into the role on May 8.
Since 2010, Price has served as president of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), Plymouth, Ind., and as the administrator of the St. Joseph Physician Network, composed of 26 practice locations and 70 physicians throughout the Michigan-Indiana area. Her recent accomplishments include leading the successful implementation of the electronic medical record throughout the health system and helping the Plymouth campus to achieve its status as a Top 100 Hospital last year.
Prior to becoming president at SJRMC, she served as the System Chief Operating Officer. In that role, Price successfully consolidated two of the system’s three hospitals, along with home care and rehabilitation. As part of this effort, she helped to design and plan the hospitals’ $355 million replacement facility.
“We are pleased to welcome Lori as Gottlieb Memorial Hospital’s new president," said Larry Goldberg, president and CEO, Loyola University Health System. "She is a leader who has exhibited tremendous skill and grace in her leadership of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She will be an asset to our health system as we set a course for growth in the coming years.”
Price began her career in health care as a medical-surgical nurse. She served in various nursing administration roles at SJRMC until she was promoted to vice president of clinical and patient care services in 1993 and later to executive vice present of both the Plymouth campus and Mishawaka Hospital.
Price is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and received that organization’s Northern Indiana Regents award. She also was named to the list of Up and Comers by Modern Healthcare magazine.
