Newswise — James MacDonald, MD, has been appointed an associate editor of the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, effective immediately. MacDonald is a physician with Nationwide Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Family Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
The Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine is the official journal of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, the Australasian College of Sports Physicians and the Canadian Academy of Sport & Exercise Medicine. The journal is an international peer-reviewed journal published for clinicians with a primary interest in sports medicine practice and publishes original research and reviews covering diagnostics, therapeutics, and rehabilitation in healthy and physically challenged individuals of all ages and levels of sport and exercise participation. MacDonald will be primarily responsible for the journal’s online content, including some peer-reviewed content only available online. MacDonald is fellowship trained and board certified in Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians. MacDonald attended medical school at Harvard Medical School before completing a Family Practice Residency at Maine- Dartmouth in Augusta, ME and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, MA. He is a member of the USA Swimming Medical Task Force and an Expert Reviewer for the Medical Board of California.
