Newswise — August 29, 2016 – The American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and the Soil Science Society of America are planning their 2016 annual meeting with the theme of Resilience Emerging from Scarcity and Abundance. The International Annual Meeting will take place in Phoenix, AZ, November 6-9, 2016.
Sandra Postel and Dennis Dimick are the opening and closing keynote speakers, respectively.
Postel, with the Global Water Policy Project, will present ‘Our Freshwater Future: New Solutions to Build Resilience in a Changing World,” on Sunday, Nov. 6th at 6:00 PM. She will discuss the question: “can we meet the food, energy and water needs of our growing population, while at the same time sustaining the ecosystems that support our economies and the web of life on the planet?”
On Wednesday, Nov. 9th at 5:00 PM, Dimick will present “Our Good Earth: Soil's Key to Food Resilience.” His visually powerful and fast-moving presentation is based on assignments with photographer Jim Richardson for National Geographic Magazine.
